    Overview

Spring Plasma School at Port Said (EGYPlasma School) is an annual event that targets BSc and MSc students who are interested in or studying plasma physics and plasma applications. Even though all the school material and slides are in English, the lectures are in Arabic. EGYPlasma School is a week of lectures, hands-on computational tutorials, and problem-solving in plasma physics. Moreover, the participants can discover such a fantastic city –Port Said that overlooks Suez Canal and the Mediterranean sea. Participants and speakers are staying in the same resort; thus, the students have an excellent opportunity to ask and discuss the speakers about useful stuff, e.g., academic career, publication, study abroad, and seeking advice for the next step. If you are eligible, don’t miss such an opportunity, and apply before the deadline, 13 Feb 2026 at 23:59:59.

    One day conference

The last day of the school is a one day conference, in which MSc students, Ph.D. candidates, and postdocs can present their work. An excellent opportunity to have feedback from attendance on your work. Even though it is a low-stress conference, a contribution certificate will be issued. Attending only the conference is possible if you will give a presentation.

    Feedback of the students

We learned useful and important information, both in the field of plasma and about how to work on ourselves, develop, and improve our level. We also greatly benefited from the instructors who delivered the sessions, as each one provided valuable insights. Additionally, we learned from our colleagues who presented, especially in overcoming the fear of speaking in front of senior professors like those who were present. It was also a great experience to meet students from almost all over Egypt, which allowed us to exchange knowledge and benefit from each other.

Speakers and Lecturers have delivered a great scientific and insightful content. I have learned about many things not only about plasma physics but also about scientists, scientific thinking, scientific research, self-learning, AI usage for science, adjacent fields, basics needed for getting started plasma physics and many many other topics. However, some lectures where kind of distant from the main topic (or at least that is what have seemed to me. and I am mentioning this excluding the presentations done on the last day). Maybe these lectures needed a more smooth gradient from the begining to demonstrate the connection to plasma physics. I have had some constructive conversations with lecturers. Grasped a lot of insightful content. More importantly, I have met with some of the most brilliant minds in this field in Egypt, MENA region and the world. Their lectures, talks, and conversations were very fruitful guiding and nurturing our progress in science and technology and in life as a whole.

The speakers were a great inspiration to me, and I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart for their efforts and time. The lectures were helpful as an introduction to the field of plasma, and they certainly could have been more detailed, but time did not permit.

The lectures were less technically intense than I had anticipated. Improving the logical flow of the presentations would significantly enhance clarity. I would have appreciated more in-depth explanations and a more cohesive structure. At times, the material felt a bit superficial, making it difficult to fully grasp fundamental concepts. However, the subject matter was entirely new to me, and I valued the introduction to plasma physics. While all the speakers were impressive intellectuals, I would like to specifically highlight Dr. Mourad Djebli. His teaching style was incredibly 'human', kind, humorous, and humble. I found his lectures to be the most engaging, not only for their technical content but for the pedagogical approach and the meaningful quotes he shared. I was particularly moved when he admitted to still feeling anxious before an audience despite his years of experience. This vulnerability was encouraging; it gave me the confidence to pursue my own goal of becoming a professor and speaking publicly in the future.

Good evening respected professors and colleagues, First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for this valuable opportunity to attend the Plasma School. It has been a truly enriching experience. The program provided a well-structured combination of theoretical knowledge and practical insights. The lectures were clear, engaging, and covered essential topics in plasma physics, from fundamental concepts to advanced applications. I especially appreciated the efforts of the professors in simplifying complex ideas and encouraging interactive discussions. This made the learning process more effective and inspiring. Additionally, the collaborative environment and exchange of ideas among participants greatly enhanced my understanding and broadened my perspective in this field.

It was great, and somehow it organized my scientific thinking, and how I am dealing with theoretical physics, and how plasma is connected to many fields.
