Professor Hanaa received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Zagazig University, Zagazig, Egypt, in 1993 and 1999, respectively. In 2008, she received Ph.D. in mathematics and physics from the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Cairo.

She has been with the Plasma and Nuclear Fusion Department, Nuclear Research Center, Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority, Cairo, since 1995, where she is currently an Associate Professor and a member of the Plasma Focus and Cold Plasma Laboratory Group.

Her research interests include plasma accelerators, plasma focus, nonthermal plasma jet, and its applications (e.g., Cold Plasma blood coagulation and wound healing, plasma-activated water applications).
